The Healer
My Story
From the kitchen to The Healer
I was fortunate enough to grow up on a smallholding, surrounded by fruit trees, nut trees, free-roaming chickens and cows that provided us with fresh milk. From a very young age, nourishment meant real food made from real ingredients.
My career began as a chef, and my first professional kitchen was Gordon Ramsay’s in London. When I think back on the years I spent working there, my greatest lesson was the importance of respecting the ingredients.
We were taught that good food was not only about the skill of the chef. It began with the quality of the produce. When the ingredients were exceptional, our job was not to complicate them—it was to understand them, treat them with care and allow them to shine.
Ingredients are not simply important; they are everything.
Why I began questioning skincare
As a young adult, I struggled with very sensitive skin. Shampoos and styling products would leave my scalp itchy and uncomfortable, while many facial creams caused irritation and rashes. This continued for years until I eventually stopped using them and tried something much simpler: organic, cold-pressed virgin coconut oil.
Each day, I warmed a small amount between my palms and used it on my scalp and hair. After a couple of months, I could hardly believe the difference. My scalp felt comfortable and my hair felt better than it had in years. That was almost eight years ago, and I have never looked back.
It made me question why skincare had become so complicated.
We understand the importance of nourishing our bodies with good food, yet we do not always apply the same thought and care to our skin. Nature has given us remarkable oils, butters, waxes and botanicals that have been used in traditional skincare for generations. Many of them have simply been forgotten.
Where The Healer was born
The idea for The Healer truly began when my mother developed a skin condition that left her skin dry, irritated and inflamed. The products she tried offered little comfort, so I returned to the principle I had learnt in the kitchen: begin with good ingredients, understand their purpose and do not add what is unnecessary.
I created the Rejuvenation Botanical Balm using a considered blend of natural oils and botanicals traditionally used to care for delicate, sensitive-feeling skin. The formula felt familiar, gentle and comforting. It was uncomplicated, but every ingredient had a reason for being there.
That was where The Healer was born.
The Healer is my way of bringing together everything I have learnt—from growing up close to real food, to working as a chef, to understanding my own sensitive skin. I create nourishing, small-batch formulas using carefully selected ingredients rooted in nature. Each recipe is made to support the skin’s natural barrier and offer a simple, comforting ritual of care.
I believe we deserve to understand what we put on our skin, why it is included and what purpose it serves. No unnecessary complexity. No ingredients without reason. Just thoughtful formulations, made with respect for nature and for the skin.
